FAQs

Common questions.

I'm not married — do I really need a will?

More than anyone. Without a will, an unmarried partner inherits nothing under UK intestacy rules.

Can I just use an online template?

You can — and many are technically valid. The problem is whether it does what you actually wanted. Templates miss step-children, business interests, second marriages, foreign assets.

What's a lasting power of attorney?

An LPA names someone to act for you if you can't — through illness, accident or age. There are two: health & welfare, and property & finance.

How is your will-writing regulated?

Will writing isn't directly FCA-regulated, but our specialists are STEP-qualified and professionally indemnified to £2m.

Can you handle inheritance tax planning too?

Yes — alongside the will, where it makes sense. Most households don't need complex IHT planning; some need it badly.
